Software Review

Today I'm going to give a review of Wave Accounting, an online accounting software. Probably the most popular cloud accounting company I work with is Wave Accounting. And why is it so popular you may ask? Because it is FREE. Yes you heard me correct, a completely free bookkeeping program.

I'm sure at least a few of you have heard of Mint.com for managing your personal finances, I compare Wave as the business equal. Wave is a fully functioning program that tracks income, expenses, allows you to set up your own chart of accounts, invoices, and even estimates. With Wave you can link your bank accounts, Paypal account, and credit cards directly and automatically import transactions. However, if you don't want to link, or don't work with online banking you can import your bank statement.
In addition to linking with bank accounts, Wave has integration to link with Shoeboxed for expense tracking and Etsy for all you crafty people out there. If you are a business of more than one person Wave has an inexpensive Payroll option integrated into the software, which makes it a great alternative to Quickbooks in the US online market. Rather than having to use a payroll service and import transactions, Wave connects everything for you.

Many small business owners are also doing work on the go, which makes the mobile apps that Wave offers quite handy. You can invoice, take payments, process payroll, or track your receipts all from simple to use mobile apps.

When it comes to accounting solutions for small businesses I think Wave is one of the best. I am constantly impressed with their software and team. I have a great relationship with their Pro Network leadership and love how supportive they are of their users. In fact, every time I host a webinar training, they share it on all their social media accounts.

As a bonus you can use Wave to track your personal finances as well.
